Tennis NZ has developed and adopted a Tennis Participant Protection Policy that has also been adopted by Tennis Auckland. The purpose of the policy is to protect the health, safety and well-being of those who participate in the activities of Tennis NZ and of Regional Tennis Organisations (RTO’s), Local Tennis Partners (LTP’s), Aotearoa Maori Tennis, Affiliates and tennis clubs (all collectively known as New Zealand Tennis Organisations (“NZTOs”).

All NZTOs have zero tolerance towards any form of harassment, abuse or discrimination against any person by another person involved in tennis.

All NZTOs take seriously their responsibilities to provide a safe environment for those participating in tennis activities, particularly children under the age of 18 years and vulnerable adults. Tennis NZ and all NZTOs have a zero-tolerance approach to child and vulnerable adult abuse.

If, after consulting the Tennis Participant Protection Policy, you believe your concern is valid and wish to report a safeguarding concern to Tennis Auckland, please email [email protected]. 

All concerns will be managed in accordance with the principles of confidentiality, procedural fairness, and natural justice, and in alignment with the Tennis Participant Protection Policy and associated integrity processes. Information relating to complaints will only be shared with those who need to be involved in assessing, investigating, or resolving the matter.

If a complaint falls within the jurisdiction of Tennis New Zealand’s integrity or disciplinary processes, it may be referred to Tennis New Zealand for management in accordance with the relevant national policy.

Interclub tennis concerns

If you have a concern that relates specifically to Interclub tennis, you must submit the details in writing through your Club’s internal Interclub Controller or Secretary, who will then escalate the issue to Tennis Auckland in accordance with match code of conduct rules.
